Editorial Policy

SkillLab exists to help people choose online courses they won’t regret. This page explains how the site decides what to recommend, what “tested” means here, and what you can rely on when you read a review.

How SkillLab tests a course

Every course SkillLab recommends has been checked the same way. First, the syllabus: what is actually taught, in what order, and at what level — not what the sales page claims. Second, the outcome: what a learner can realistically do after finishing, compared with what the course promises. Third, price vs value: what it costs, what free alternatives exist, and whether the paid version earns its price.

Where it matters, the course material itself is worked through — the lessons, the exercises, the projects — so the review describes the real experience, not the marketing copy.

What SkillLab never does

  • Never recommends a course it has not checked — at minimum, the full syllabus, and usually the material itself.
  • Never takes payment for a review, a ranking, or a place on a list.
  • Never lets an affiliate commission change a verdict. If a paid course loses to a free one, the free one wins.
  • Never publishes a review based on a press release or a sales page alone.

How comparisons are made

Comparisons use the same checklist for every option: syllabus depth, instructor quality where it can be checked, practical work, support and community, price, and certificate value. The winner is the option that best fits a stated need — and the page says who it fits and who it doesn’t.

Money and independence

SkillLab earns money through affiliate links: if you buy a course through a link on this site, SkillLab may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Commissions do not buy coverage, change scores, or keep a bad course on a list. The details are on the Disclosure page.

Corrections

Courses change, and SkillLab makes mistakes. If something is wrong or out of date, it gets corrected, and the correction is noted where it matters. You can report an error through the Contact page or by writing to khabibishere@gmail.com.

Who writes SkillLab

SkillLab is run by Rao Khabib, who researches online courses, compares syllabuses, platforms and outcomes, and writes the reviews. There is no team of ghostwriters, and no sponsored content pretending to be editorial.
