SkillLab is reader-supported. This page says plainly how the site earns money, and what that does — and doesn’t — change about what you read here.
Affiliate links
Some links on SkillLab are affiliate links. If you click one and buy a course, SkillLab may earn a commission from the course platform, at no extra cost to you. The price you pay is the same either way.
Affiliate income is how SkillLab pays for its time: researching courses, reading syllabuses, and keeping reviews up to date. It is the only way the site earns money right now — there are no paid reviews, no sponsored articles, and no advertising.
What affiliate income does not do
- It does not decide which courses get reviewed.
- It does not change verdicts or scores.
- It does not keep a bad course on a list.
- It does not buy a better ranking in any comparison.
How recommendations are made
Recommendations come from the checks described on the Editorial Policy page: syllabus, outcome, and price vs value. A course is recommended because it passed those checks. If a course pays a higher commission but is worse for the reader, SkillLab recommends the better course — and says so.
No sponsored content
SkillLab does not publish sponsored posts, and no company can pay to have its course reviewed or featured. If that ever changes, it will be disclosed here and on the page itself.
