About

SkillLab exists for one simple reason: choosing an online course is harder than finishing one. There are thousands of courses, dozens of platforms, and every one of them claims to be the best. Most learners waste weeks comparing options — or worse, pay for a course that teaches the wrong things at the wrong level.

SkillLab is here to cut through that. Every guide and comparison on this site is built on the same idea: look at the actual syllabus, check what the course really teaches, and be honest about who it is — and isn’t — for.

Who’s behind SkillLab

SkillLab is run by Rao Khabib. He spends his time researching online courses, comparing syllabuses, platforms and outcomes, so readers don’t have to. He reads the course outlines, works through the material where it matters, and checks what graduates actually walk away able to do — then writes it up plainly, with the trade-offs included.

Rao started SkillLab because he kept seeing the same problem: good people, short on time, buying courses on the strength of a sales page. SkillLab is the site he wished existed when he was choosing his own courses.

What you’ll find here

Course and platform comparisons that name a winner and explain why. Honest reviews of tech skills, business skills, language learning and study methods. And practical guidance on certificates — which ones are worth the effort, and which ones are just a PDF.

How SkillLab is funded

SkillLab is reader-supported. Some links on this site are affiliate links, which means SkillLab may earn a commission if you buy through them — at no extra cost to you. That never decides what gets recommended. The full details are on the Disclosure page.

A note on honesty

If a course is overpriced, outdated or padded with filler, SkillLab says so. If a free course beats a paid one, SkillLab says that too. The goal is simple: help you spend your time and money on learning that actually pays off.
